New Study Reveals Best Practices for Maximizing Safflower Yield and Quality.
The researchers studied how different factors like plant density, topping, and nitrogen fertilizer affected the yield and quality of safflower crops in Saudi Arabia. They wanted to find the best way to grow this crop in harsh environments. They found that nitrogen fertilizer rates and topping had a big impact on seed yield and oil content. The highest seed yield was achieved with 138kg N/ha, and the best oil content was with 92 kg N/ha. Plant spacing didn't have a significant effect on yield. Overall, the study showed that managing nitrogen levels and topping can greatly improve safflower crop production.
