North Dakota Agricultural Land Values Soar, Impacting Tax Assessments.
The North Dakota Land Valuation Model for 2011 estimated average land values by county based on crop and non-crop production. The average value per acre of all agricultural land in North Dakota increased by 5.4% from 2010 to 2011, with cropland value up by 6.0% and non-cropland value down by 0.40%. The increase in values was due to higher crop production values, influenced by increased yields, higher prices, and changes in cropping mix. Market value data from the County Rents and Values survey showed changes in land values across counties.
