Effective cooperation and trust reduce police officers' willingness to quit departments.
The study looked at why police officers decide to stay or leave their jobs. They used data from Baltimore police officers and found that good teamwork, trust in coworkers, fair treatment, and a good work-life balance make officers less likely to quit. Surprisingly, stress and traumatic events don't seem to make officers want to leave. It seems like officers see stress as just part of the job.
