Education Irrelevant for Immigrant Employment in the Netherlands: Catching Up Challenging.
Immigrants in the Netherlands face challenges in finding jobs, especially non-western immigrants who never fully catch up with native Dutch. Even second generation immigrants struggle to reach parity. Caribbean immigrants assimilate relatively quickly but still experience high unemployment. Job quality for immigrants is lower, especially for those culturally different from Dutch society. Education does not significantly impact immigrants' socio-economic status once their country of origin is considered. Western immigrants have an easier time in the Dutch job market.
