Stock Market Fridays Boom, Mondays Bust: How to Time Investments
The study looked at how the prices of international property shares behave over time in different countries. They found that Fridays tend to have the highest returns, while Mondays have the lowest. This pattern was most noticeable in the 80s and 90s and in smaller markets. January was generally a good month for returns, but not significantly better than others. However, selling in May seemed to be a common trend in many markets. Winter months had better returns than summer months in five countries. Small and new companies without many big investors showed the most significant price patterns based on the day of the week.
