The study looked at how the way small and medium businesses manage their working capital affects their profitability. They surveyed 248 SMEs listed on the Alternative Investment Market and analyzed responses from 72 managers. The results showed that the way managers handle working capital impacts profitability. It was found that setting specific target levels for working capital is crucial for increasing profitability, especially for SMEs with limited resources.
