Euro Poised to Challenge Dollar as Global Reserve Currency Dominance
The article analyzes data on foreign currency reserves from 1999-2007 to see if the euro could become a major global currency like the US dollar. The results suggest that the euro might become a leading reserve currency in the future, possibly on par with the US dollar. The proportion of the euro in foreign currency reserves varied among different groups of countries, but overall, it was mostly increasing during the period studied.
