Lowering voting age to 16 won't increase political knowledge, study finds.
Voting age laws in Sweden were studied to see if giving 16-year-olds the right to vote would increase their political knowledge. The study found that there is no evidence that allowing 16-year-olds to vote leads to them gaining more political knowledge. This suggests that lowering the voting age from 18 to 16 may not result in more informed young voters.
