Immigrants in Netherlands face persistent job disparities, education irrelevant.
The article examines how immigrants in the Netherlands are doing in terms of finding jobs. It shows that immigrants from different countries have different levels of success in the job market. Non-western immigrants, including second-generation ones, struggle to find good jobs compared to native Dutch people. Caribbean immigrants assimilate faster but still face high unemployment. Job quality for immigrants is lower, especially if they are culturally different from the Dutch. Education doesn't seem to make a big difference in immigrants' job prospects once their country of origin is taken into account.
