German authorities allocated over 3 million ethnic German immigrants to different regions in Germany. These immigrants, despite having German ancestry, had low German-language skills, education levels, and job prospects. The study shows that immigration increases crime rates, especially in regions with high existing crime rates, many foreigners, and high population densities. Unemployment in these regions also contributes to the rise in crime.
