China's Renewable Energy Policy Prioritizes Industry Over Clean Power, Experts Warn
China's approach to renewable energy policies was examined in the article. The study focused on how well China managed the interaction between policies for renewable energy and its renewable energy industry. The researchers discovered that while China prioritized building a renewable energy manufacturing industry, it did not effectively balance this with promoting renewable energy use. By investigating from 2005 to 2012, the study found that China's strategy emphasized industry development over actual renewable energy outcomes. This approach was driven by three core ideas: green development, low-carbon leadership, and indigenous innovation. The researchers suggest that China should improve the coordination between policies for renewable energy and the renewable energy industry to better achieve its renewable energy goals.
