East China leads in energy efficiency, west lags behind: study.
The study analyzed China's regional energy and environmental efficiency from 2000 to 2008. By using advanced models, the researchers found that the eastern region of China had the highest efficiency, while the western region had the lowest. Overall, China's energy and environmental efficiency slightly improved during the study period. The eastern region showed more balanced development compared to the central and western regions in terms of energy and environment efficiency.
