Northeast's Agriculture, Forestry, and Fishing Sustain Millions of Jobs and Billions in Revenue
The northeastern region of the United States, despite being small and densely populated, relies heavily on agriculture, forestry, and fisheries for its economy. A study found that in 2012, these sectors contributed $99.4 billion to the region's total sales, creating 474,482 jobs. This shows that farming, food, forestry, and fisheries play a significant role in the economies of eight northeastern states.
