Countries' borrowing costs are influenced by more than just economic factors. Real money investors, like nonbanks and central banks, impact bond yields. Higher debt to GDP ratios lead to higher yields, but having real money investors can offset this increase. However, if ownership shifts in the long term, borrowing costs could rise, especially for countries with weak finances.
