The article examines different factors that can predict inflation and economic growth in the Euro area. They compared these factors with simple models and found that using a single indicator is often more accurate than using complex methods. However, to outperform basic models, a different indicator needs to be used each time. They also found that a real-time selection process for indicators can produce good results.
