Arkansas Agriculture Drives Billions in Economic Growth, Sustains 1 in 6 Jobs
The study looked at how agriculture boosts Arkansas' economy over time. Researchers used economic data to see how agriculture helps the state from 2003 to 2012. They found that each year, agriculture adds billions of dollars to Arkansas and accounts for around 10% of the state's economy. Even though the amount of money generated by agriculture has decreased over the years, it still contributes more to Arkansas' economy compared to neighboring states, the South, and the whole country. Agriculture in Arkansas supports a lot of jobs, with about one in every six jobs connected to it, and also adds significant value to the state's economy, with 6 coming from agriculture.
