Revolutionizing crop yields and soil health with integrated nitrogen management.
A study was conducted to see how different ways of adding nitrogen to soil affect wheat and cowpea crops. They tried using chemical fertilizers, organic manures, and bio-fertilizers. The best results came from a mix of chemical fertilizer, farmyard manure, vermicompost, and castor cake. Adding Azotobacter and Azospirillum bacteria to the seeds also helped. This mix gave higher grain yields, more protein in the crops, and improved soil nutrients. Overall, this approach improved the quality and quantity of wheat and cowpea crops, as well as the health of the soil.
