Global intellectual property rules have negative impacts on human rights, but domestic advocates haven't focused on this issue. By framing intellectual property in human rights terms, we can challenge power structures. The Marrakesh Treaty requires states to create exceptions to copyright for individuals with disabilities, paving the way for better human rights advocacy in intellectual property. This treaty can empower affected individuals and advocates to participate in shaping intellectual property laws.
