Stagnant Agricultural Productivity Threatens Food Security in West Africa
The study looked at how well farming in West African countries was growing over time. They studied data from 13 nations to see how efficient and productive their agriculture was between 1971 and 2007. The results showed that the overall productivity in the region's agricultural sector got a bit worse each year during that time. The decline happened mostly because farmers were not using resources efficiently rather than there being a lack of new technology. In West Africa, farming is super-important for food, money, and jobs, so making it work better is crucial for the region's economy and people's lives.
