The report examines how global agricultural production may meet future demand by 2050. The study uses a model to analyze factors influencing production, such as population growth and income changes. Results show that as the population grows, production and consumption of major crops increase at a similar rate. However, changes in income have a smaller impact on crop consumption. The model also suggests that the global economy adjusts to changes in agricultural productivity through responses like yield improvements, changes in cropland area, crop price adjustments, and international trade.
