Gender wage gap in Turkey favors men in private sector jobs.
The article examines why people choose to work in public or private sectors in Turkey and how wages differ between them. Men generally earn more in public administration and state-owned enterprises compared to the private sector, except at the university level where wages are similar. Women also earn more in public administration and state-owned enterprises. However, there is a significant gender wage gap in the private sector, with men earning more than women. Additionally, the study found that the financial benefits of education are lower in the public sector compared to the private sector.
