Spaniards willing to pay 30€ more monthly for greener electricity to combat climate change.
Spain has a problem with climate change policies. Greenhouse gas emissions are high, but corrective policies, especially in energy prices, are lacking. Despite concerns about climate change, people resist higher energy prices. A study found that Spanish households support a green electricity program that raises prices to reduce carbon dioxide emissions. On average, households are willing to pay 29.91€ more per month for this program. Younger people in the Mediterranean region are more likely to support it.
