Researchers developed models to predict soil moisture levels using easily measurable properties like soil texture, bulk density, and organic matter. By analyzing penetration resistance and other soil characteristics, they created accurate models for different soil types. The models showed high accuracy in estimating moisture levels at various tensions, especially in loamy soils. This suggests that these alternative models can be reliably used to predict soil moisture in loamy texture soils.
