Beijing's Economic Growth Linked to Environmental Quality Improvement Curve.
The article examines how economic growth in Beijing affects the environment. By analyzing data from 2000-2017, the researchers found that as Beijing's economy grows, industrial wastewater discharge follows an inverted N-shaped curve. Industrial exhaust emissions and solid waste production show an inverted U-shaped curve with economic growth. However, industrial sulfur dioxide emissions increase linearly with economic growth. Overall, the study suggests that there is a connection between Beijing's economic development and its environmental impact.
