Revolutionizing coal mining: New method yields cleaner coal with higher efficiency.
Coal mines in India struggle with handling large amounts of fine coal rejects, impacting sustainability. A new method involving wet-grinding and density-gradient-centrifugation was developed to extract clean coal efficiently. By optimizing the process, clean coal with low ash content and high yield was obtained from coal tailings. The method successfully removed silica-based materials, resulting in cleaner coal rich in vitrinites and inertinites.
