Rainfall predictions could transform agriculture and food security in Yogyakarta
The researchers analyzed rainfall patterns in Sleman, Yogyakarta, to predict future rainfall trends. They gathered data from 1988 to 2019 and used a Statistical Downscaling Model to predict rainfall for the next 30 years. By looking at historical rainfall and atmospheric patterns, they created predictions based on different climate change scenarios like RCP 2.6, RCP 4.5, and RCP 8.5. These predictions are important for farmers to adapt their crops to changing water availability due to climate change.
