The article discusses how planning in Poland has evolved from short-term to long-term, integrating different aspects of development like economy, society, and environment. Historical events and economic challenges influenced this evolution. The "National Spatial Development Concept 2030" is a key document that shows this integration. It focuses on the vision of Polish space and functional areas based on socioeconomic and spatial factors. Changes in laws are needed for this concept to be put into practice. This research can be used to compare planning documents in European countries.
