New method predicts soil infiltration rates with high accuracy using remote sensing data!
The researchers wanted to find a faster and cheaper way to predict soil infiltration parameters. They used field/laboratory measurements and satellite data to do this. By looking at soil properties and infiltration rates, they were able to create functions that could predict these parameters accurately. The results showed that the field/laboratory data could predict soil infiltration rates well. They also found that even though satellite data didn't directly relate to the parameters, they could still predict them accurately using soil characteristics like moisture content and organic carbon.
