Revolutionary Wetlands Transform Dairy Farm Wastewater into Clean Water
Dairy farm wastewater can pollute water sources, but using constructed wetlands with Napier Grass can help treat it. A study at UPLB showed that this method reduced electric conductivity and total dissolved solids in the water. It also decreased nitrite levels and increased nitrate levels, but didn't fully remove fecal coliforms. This research suggests using series type vertical subsurface flow constructed wetlands for effective dairy farm wastewater treatment.
