Serbia's Economic Growth Reduces Unemployment Rate Asymmetrically, Boosting Job Opportunities.
Unemployment in Serbia has been going down even though economic growth has been slow. By looking at data from 2008 to 2019, researchers found that when the economy grows by 1%, unemployment goes down by 4.74%. But if the economy shrinks by 1%, unemployment only goes up by 1.52%. This shows that there is a strong connection between economic growth and unemployment in Serbia, especially driven by domestic demand like private and government spending on services, agriculture, and industry.
