New study reveals key to slashing energy bills in hot climates!
The goal of the research was to find the best type of window glass to save energy in hot, dry areas. The researchers used a computer program to model how different types of glass affect energy use in buildings. They discovered that having glass with a low Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC) is the most important factor in reducing the need for cooling. Glass with an SHGC of less than 0.3 is the most effective at saving energy in these regions.
