Shopping mall tenant mix impacts rents and sales in groundbreaking study.
This thesis explores how the types of stores in shopping malls affect the rents and sales of individual shops. The researchers studied 11 shopping malls in Turkey to see how the mix of stores impacted each other. This study is the first of its kind in Turkey, as most similar research has been done in the US. The researchers found that not only big anchor stores, but also groups of similar stores, create positive effects on each other's success in shopping malls.
