New Method Reveals Groundwater Movement for Better Management and Recharge
Groundwater movement in the vadose zone was studied using electrical resistivity and self-potential data. By combining these methods, researchers monitored groundwater flow during pumping and recharge processes. Results showed increased resistivity and permeability during pumping, indicating groundwater drawdown, and decreased values during recovery, suggesting groundwater recharge. This combined approach proved to be reliable for groundwater surveys.
