Boosting crop yields and protein content with innovative oat-vetch intercropping
Oats grown with vetch in Greece produce more protein-rich forage. Different oat types were tested with vetch, showing that oat B2 allowed vetch to thrive in the mix. This led to higher protein content and better overall quality in the forage. Intercropping oats and vetch was more economically beneficial than growing oats alone with nitrogen fertilizer.
