Seasonal fluctuations of ticks in Northern Iran impact species diversity.
The researchers studied different types of ticks on sheep and cattle in Northern Iran to see how their diversity changed in different areas and seasons. They found that certain tick species were more common in specific locations, with Rhipicephalus bursa being dominant in highland and plain areas, and Boophilus annulatus in woodland areas. Summer and spring had the most diverse tick species, and evenness of species had the biggest impact on diversity changes. The study showed that R. bursa's activity in different seasons greatly affected species diversity.
