The Digital Economy, also known as the New Economy, uses digital technologies in economic activities. The term was first mentioned in Japan during the 1990s recession and later coined in a book in 1995. In this new economy, digital networks allow people and organizations to interact, collaborate, and search for information globally. Recently, the Digital Economy has been defined as studying intangible goods with zero marginal cost over the internet.
