A rural sewage treatment system using modular constructed wetlands was designed to treat scattered domestic sewage. The wetland, made up of three modules, effectively removed pollutants from the sewage. The plants used were Arundo donax and Typha, along with different filter media. The treatment system achieved high removal rates for various pollutants, meeting water quality standards for rural sewage treatment. The modular constructed wetland proved to be a practical and adaptable solution for treating rural domestic sewage.
