Uneven distribution of climate projects threatens global sustainability
The article talks about Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) projects aiming to reduce carbon emissions and promote sustainable development in both developed and developing countries. By studying data from 107 countries, researchers found that wealthier countries with trading experience and high energy demands tend to have more successful CDM projects. However, the cost of reducing carbon emissions can be a barrier. Interestingly, industrial level and national carbon emissions don't impact CDM distribution in countries with fewer projects. The study suggests that wealth and experience play key roles in the success of these projects, and policy implications were made based on the findings.
