A study of 252 Nifty companies found that the effectiveness of internal auditing is influenced by the competency of audit staff and their interaction with the audit committee. This means that well-trained staff and good communication with the committee are key for successful internal auditing in India. The findings suggest that professionals should focus on developing their skills and maintaining regular contact with the audit committee to improve organizational performance.
