By studying Chinese literature from 1999 to 2020, the researchers found that urban circular economy development should focus on using modern technologies and involving the government, market, laws, policies, and the public. They suggest incorporating concepts like the internet, sharing economy, Internet of Things, and artificial intelligence to improve urban sustainability.
