Colored Water Pillows Boost Pepper Yields, Slash Water and Energy Use
The study looked at how using colored water pillows affects the yield and water efficiency of pepper plants in greenhouses. They compared different irrigation methods over two years and found that water pillows used 38% less water than traditional drip irrigation. The pepper plants grown with water pillows had higher yields and water productivity compared to those grown with drip irrigation. Additionally, using water pillows saved a significant amount of energy compared to other methods. Overall, the research showed that water pillows are a better option for growing peppers in greenhouses.
