Bulgarian Farms Struggle with Competitiveness, Highlighting Need for Policy Support
The article assesses how competitive Bulgarian farms are and what factors affect their competitiveness. The study found that most farms in Bulgaria are moderately competitive, with low adaptability and economic efficiency being the main factors limiting competitiveness. Beekeeping farms are the most competitive, while grazing livestock farms are the least competitive. Key factors for improving competitiveness include market conditions, government subsidies, access to knowledge, and financial opportunities. The study suggests that a holistic approach should be used to assess competitiveness regularly and involve stakeholders for better accuracy.
