European Court of Human Rights Extends Protection to Labour Rights.
The European Convention on Human Rights protects people's freedoms and property rights in 42 countries. It requires nations to pass laws safeguarding these rights from government and private interference. Through interpretation, the Convention now covers many labor rights like collective bargaining and protection against unfair dismissal. The right to privacy also includes the right to work. Discrimination protection applies to any unfairly treated group. This means human rights law is now the strongest defense for labor rights in Europe.
