Paunch Manure Produces Highest Quality Vermicompost for Sustainable Agriculture
Red worms were fed different materials to see how it affected their population and the quality of vermicompost they produced. The worms multiplied the most in paunch manure, but the most vermicompost was produced when paunch manure was mixed with wheat straw. Vermicompost from paunch manure had the highest levels of nitrogen, carbon, and phosphorus, making it the best quality for plant growth. All vermicompost samples had enough nutrients for plants and the right pH for soil fertility. Overall, vermicompost made from paunch manure alone was considered the highest quality due to the high number of worms, vermicompost yield, and nutrient content.
