The study looked at how different factors affect the room rates of private home rentals in Osaka City. For old houses converted into rentals, having a traditional design led to higher rates. For newer rentals, being close to a train station and having higher land prices by the road also meant higher rates. This suggests that there is a market for renting out old houses that were not valuable as residences.
