Optimal Fertilizer Rates Boost Sunflower Yield and Profitability for Farmers
The study looked at how different amounts of nitrogen and phosphorus fertilizers affect the growth and yield of sunflower varieties. They tested five fertilizer rates on three different sunflower types over two years. The results showed that a specific fertilizer rate of 34.5 kg N/ha and 34.5 kg P2O5/ha led to the highest seed yield and profitability for all varieties. This rate worked well for sunflower production, but the best variety choice depended on the location. Overall, the study found that adjusting the amount of nitrogen and phosphorus fertilizers can significantly impact sunflower yield.
