Dairy Farms Slash Greenhouse Emissions with Manure-Powered Biogas
Dairy farms produce a lot of greenhouse gases, which contribute to global warming. A study looked at how anaerobic digestion can help reduce these emissions. They used data from a dairy farm in Northern Ireland and found that adding anaerobic digestion can capture methane and carbon dioxide, but it might not always be beneficial in the long run. Despite the potential for reducing greenhouse gases, there isn't much motivation for farms in the UK to use anaerobic digestion right now.
