A study compared different chemicals used to clean drinking water. They found that most polyaluminium chloride coagulants work just as well as aluminium sulfate, but are cheaper. The study used water from the Sea of Galilee and found that the type of chemicals used during the cleaning process is more important than the chemicals themselves.
