The article discusses the need for modernizing the land information management and cadastral system in Romania. The current system is outdated and struggles to secure legal ownership relations. The researchers argue that manual processes and traditional structures are no longer sufficient, and a shift to multi-purpose cadastral systems is necessary. This new system would integrate information on natural resources, land use, and ownership titles. Legal reforms, technological advancements, and institutional changes are needed to achieve this modernization. Despite efforts to reform, there are challenges in overcoming institutional obstacles.
