New herbicide boosts chickpea yield and profits, revolutionizing farming practices.
The study tested different weed control methods on chickpea growth and yield. They used various herbicides and hand weeding techniques in a field experiment. The results showed that using Pendimethalin herbicide before planting led to the best growth and yield outcomes. This treatment resulted in taller plants, more branches, higher nodule weight, and increased seed yield compared to other methods. Overall, using Oxyfluorfen herbicide also showed good results in terms of yield and economic returns.
